Jewish cemetery

A special place of interest in Vierlingsbeek is the Jewish cemetery on the Molenweg. It is one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1711 and contains 82 tombstones.

In this cemetery the Jewish inhabitants of the entire Land van Cuijk were interred. Incidentally, the Jewish community of Vierlingsbeek was not established until 1859. A synagogue also stood here between 1850 and 1930. The Jewish inhabitants of Vierlingsbeek were subsequently incorporated into the Jewish community of Boxmeer.
