Cloister

The Kloostergang is a work of art by Sachi Miyachi, an artist originally from Japan who has lived in Amsterdam for many years. The Kloostergang is part of De Kapellenbaan, a unique art initiative in De Maasheggen. De Kapellenbaan winds its way past modern and traditional art installations and existing heritage sites. Along the way, you’ll encounter artworks by renowned artistic “pioneers” (Atelier Van Lieshout, Guido Geelen, Frank Havermans, Sachi Miyachi, MONOLAB Architects, Maria Roosen, and Eveline Visser) who have explored the theme “Peace and Reflection.” Each of these works is uniquely situated to connect with the distinctive landscape as well as with regional cultural and social traditions.

In *De Kloostergang*, a work by Miyachi, you can walk endlessly in the shape of a figure eight, the symbol of infinity.
*De Kloostergang* was made possible in part by R&R Van Rens Boomkwekers, who generously made the plot of land available. The work was created by artisans from the village of Vierlingsbeek: Wim Geurts, Peter Schoofs, Maarten Evers, Wim de Hoog, Hans Hendriks, and Jac Bus.
