The fox without a tail
No. 1 on the route
A fox with the most beautiful tail of all time
runs into a trap at night on the Meuse Hedge Trail.
His tail in the pinch! He can free himself,
But 't tail stays behind and exposed is his hole.
Shame on the tailless creature,
no fox must know, so he invents a ruse.
He invites the foxes to a barbecue party,
and then addresses them, with his hole on a chest.
'Friends,' he speaks, the tailless fox,
'Let us not linger in the primeval times.
It sticks in every hedge, in every hawthorn bush,
That tail is a burden, we have to get rid of it!
Cheers sound up, there are calls for scissors
until the youngest of the bunch raises an issue.
'Yours is the most beautiful, the prettiest in years,
toe, before cutting, show us your tail one more time!
If the tailless refuses and sits nervously rocking
the youngest pulls the box away and the ruse comes out.
No fox will want to cut its tail off then,
a fox without a tail, no that doesn't look like it.
