The hare and the hedgehog
No. 3 on the route
On Sunday, the hare goes into training very early
he jumps through the meadows and is in good spirits;
Suddenly he is pricked, 't hurt his shins,
a hedgehog, such a dumbass who wastes his training.
'I'm sorry,' says the hedgehog, 'but eager to know:
Why yet this speed, what is the purpose of the hurry?
'Tis fast traffic here," said the hare, doggedly,
'Such a slob on my path, that's what amazes me.'
"A slob?" says the hedgehog, "in your dreams, perhaps.
if I have to, I'm faster than you.
'Ha ha,' says the hare, 'yes, I want to see that,
we will race to be the fastest in the pasture.
'That's good,' says the hedgehog, 'but I'd like to get some sleep
And the contest we do elsewhere, that's my request.
The Hazewinkel, which was created for a race
with the finish after the turn, yes it's right around the corner.
The hare then runs away confidently
That the hedgehog will soon go down puffing.
The hedgehog, meanwhile, goes to confide in his wife
That she should go around the corner from Hazewinkel already.
At the start of the race, the hare flies like a spear
And the hedgehog just stays put in the grass.
Around the corner of the Hazewinkel, the hare sidles down in amazement
"I told you," says a hedgehog "that I was faster.
