The pigeon and the ant
No. 14 on the route
On the banks of the Oeffelt creek
a pigeon went to take a sip.
He heard cries for help and looked:
an ant was drowning.
The pigeon didn't think twice and knew
sticking a branch in the water.
This is how the ant was fished out,
Just in time, just barely succumbed.
The drowning man bowed deeply and said:
"My thanks are untold.
'Oh well,' said the pigeon, 'it's part of it:
you help each other in need.
The days rain one after another
and hunting season began.
The pigeon flew over Oeffelt
went back to drinking at the spring.
A hunter looked through his visor
saw the pigeon, a tasty booty.
He laid on ... there was the ant,
bit the hunter's calf.
A bang sounded, someone yelled "ouch!
but the pigeon remained unharmed.
And the ant said happily, "Now I am helping you.
I had learned a wise lesson.
