Art tour Chapel Avenue
Experience extraordinary art treasures in Holland's oldest cultural landscape
Kapellenbaan leads you, cycling or by car, past modern and traditional art objects and existing heritage in the Maasheggen area. Where, from the Romans until after World War II, new layers were continuously added to culture, Kapellenbaan has been adding new dimensions since 2020.
You will be introduced to works of art by renowned artistic "groundbreakers" such as Maria Roosen and Sachi Miyachi. The works are each uniquely situated to connect with the extraordinary landscape as well as with the regional cultural and social traditions.
During this route you will also discover the unique (religious) art treasures that have been added to the region for centuries. From the Severijn organ in Cuijk (1625/1650) to the Mauritsraam in the Kruisheren monastery in St. Agatha (1618/1620). Or dwell on locations with a special story such as the Jewish cemetery in Vierlingsbeek.
