Walk through water storage Oeffeltse Raam
Waterschap Aa en Maas together with Land van Cuijk municipality and other stakeholders in the area, has made the Oeffeltse Raam near Boxmeer climate-proof. Among other things, a water storage area was created to capture excess water and a unique additional water intake was created to reduce drought.
Although the implemented water storage is outside the UNESCO area De Maasheggen, it does affect the water quality in De Maasheggen. After all, the Oeffeltse Raam flows through the Maasheggen area towards the Meuse It is one of the connections from the Maasheggen area to the hinterland.
