Maasheggenimker gets own sign at Groenz
On Saturday, July 8, a sign by beekeeper Rob Somers will be unveiled at Fruitpark Groenz in Sambeek. This is the first time that a Boert Bewust sign from a beekeeper has been placed at Land van Cuijk.
Somers's beekeeper De Moassense Berg is one of the participants in the entrepreneurial collective Smaak van de Maasheggen. Somers has bee hives in numerous places in De Maasheggen. The honey that comes from them is sold under the label Taste of the Maasheggen.
His hives are located at Fruitpark Groenz in Sambeek, another participant (syrup from apples and pears from De Maasheggen) in Taste of the Maasheggen.
Rob Somers also likes to tell more about the 'little flowers and bees' that provide the honey on the 8th of July. After all, without bees there would be no pollination and we would not be able to eat fruit. In addition, an information booth of Land van Cuijk Boert Bewust will be set up at Groenz on that day.
The unveiling of the sign is scheduled at 11 a.m.; beekeeper Rob will be present until 5 p.m.
