Piet Hopman 'patron of The Maasheggen'

On Friday, April 12, during a meeting at Het Veerhuis in Oeffelt, Piet Hopman said goodbye. Piet has worked for Staatsbosbeheer for 42 years and during that time has built up a special bond with the UNESCO area De Maasheggen. So special, in fact, that his employer Staatsbosbeheer named Piet 'patron of De Maasheggen'.
Before being awarded that title, Pete took his guests on a walk through the Maasheggengebied. One more time he showed them the most beautiful spots of the Maasheggengebied.
It is very likely that he will continue to do so in the future, because although retired, the Maasheggengebied does not let Piet go. And vice versa!
