Start of work on Campaign Brook

Published: Friday, July 15, 2022

Waterschap Aa en Maas started work on the Campagne Brook near Maashees in early July.

The work will be carried out in phases. In the first phase, the Water Board is tackling the mouth of the stream in the Meuse River. Among other things, rock will be removed so that fish can enter the stream. A part of the stream will also be made shallower. This will allow groundwater to remain in the stream valley longer. This benefits the development of desirable flora. This work is expected to be completed in early September.

This work is expected to be completed by early September.

Phase 2 will also include the redesign of the creek. When that will happen is not yet known. The Water Board is in the process of purchasing the necessary land for this.
