Donation to IVN De Maasvallei by Taste of the Maasheggen

IVN De Maasvallei has received a check for € 1,250.00. The donation was made by Smaak van de Maasheggen, the collective of entrepreneurs who make regional products with ingredients from the UNESCO area The Maasheggen.

The check was handed over during the Dutch Championship Maasheggenvlechten. The board of IVN De Maasvallei was pleased with the financial contribution. "It is an appreciation and an encouragement at the same time. We are going to use this donation for the benefit of De Maasheggen," said IVN De Maasvallei.

Nine producers of Maasheggen products work together in Taste of the Maasheggen: brewery Gradoen (beer), Kruiden van de Maasheggen (tea blends), De Aanmakerij (syrup), beekeeper De Moassense Berg (honey), Fruitpark Groenz (fruit spread), Groenings Hofke (fruit juice), Bakker Fijnebol (bread with herbs from De Maasheggen), liquor store Sander Graat (Maasheggengin) and De Brembroeken (Maasheggenburger).

At the start of their partnership, the participants agreed to donate 5% of their sales each year to a project or organization dedicated to preserving or strengthening the Maasheggen landscape. Last year Foundation Landschapsbeheer Boxmeer (SlaBox) already received an amount of € 850.00.

Maasheggen products are for sale at participating business owners. Seven gift packages, in different price ranges, have also been put together. The packages are for sale at Het Veerhuis in Oeffelt, the branches of PLUS Verbeeten in Vierlingsbeek and Overloon, Landal de Vers in Overloon, De Brembroeken in Vortum-Mullem and Fruitpark Groenz in Boxmeer.
