'Involve residents villages more in The Maasheggen'

Before the end of this year, the program team Maasheggen UNESCO will draw up a plan containing concrete proposals as to how the inhabitants of the villages in the Meuse Hedge Area can become more involved in what happens in their 'backyard'. Subsequently, the village and neighborhood councils will discuss which of these ideas are relevant and feasible for their village or neighborhood.

It is one of the outcomes of the conversation that the program team held last Tuesday with representatives of the 11 villages in the UNESCO area De Maasheggen. During the meeting at De Kleppenburg in Oeffelt, they were updated on the developments in De Maasheggen. The subsequent invitation to share ideas for the Maasheggengebied yielded many interesting suggestions, some of which can already be implemented in the short term.
The village and neighborhood councils will soon also be involved in the replacement of the current information boards in the cores of the old municipality of Boxmeer. Then it will also be determined whether it is useful and desirable to place similar signs in the Maasheggen villages of the old municipality of Cuijk.
